Arnold City Hall Air Conditioning Failed Last Sunday

City employees worked in low lights on July 2 while the building regenerated a cool climate.

Arnold City Hall employees hope the electricity and air condition system are working when they return to work on Monday, July 9.

Last week, during the 100+ degree heat that plagued the region, the electricity stopped working at , at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., for a night.

On the afternoon of July 2, employees were in the building but only a few lights were working at City Hall.

Arnold’s Director of Administration Greg Hall restarted the building’s air conditioning system and decided that activating a few office lights was the best way to cool City Hall.

The building’s climate was comfortable compared to the heat outside.

“A building this size needs some time to rebuild its cold air,” Hall said. The fewer active lights at City Hall the quicker the air conditioning system could restore a comfortable climate to the building.

While this week’s forecast high temperatures will be in the low 90s, it will be about 10-15 degrees cooler than the daytime temperature’s Arnold experienced between July 2-6.
