City Of Arnold Seeking Animal Control Officer For Part-Time Employment

Under general supervision, is responsible for the enforcement of ordinances relating to animal control and care.

DUTIES: Primary duties include capturing animals, removing dead or injured animals; responding to complaints (e.g. animals running at large, bites, property damage, injuries, cruel treatment, etc.); caring for animals in City custody; maintaining City facilities; communicating with animal welfare organizations for adoption and rescue; investigating ordinance violations, issuing warnings or citations, appearing in court; and providing mosquito vector control spraying.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have an Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year-college or technical school, or one to two years related experience or training; or an equivalent combination. Must have a valid driver’s license and must have or be able to obtain a valid pesticide license. Strong customer service skills, computer proficiency, and an affinity for animals is required.

SALARY: The starting rate of pay for this part-time position is $19-$21 per hour D.O.Q., and is scheduled primarily on weekdays with some weekends and after-hour call outs.
