Fewer Insurance Requirements for Arnold Farmers' Market Vendors
The city initially required all vendors to protect themselves by having general and product liability insurance.

When the City of Arnold opened the Arnold Farmers’ Market to smaller growers of vegetables, the it decided to lighten the insurance burden for those businesses.
Originally the city required all vendors at the market to have general insurance and product liability insurance, Arnold Economic/Development Planner Dan Bish in an interview with ArnoldPatch at , 2101 Jeffco Blvd.
“The vendors would be protected in the event someone became ill after eating the sellers’ fruits or vegetables,” Bish said.

Some business owners, who wanted to participate, hesitated at joining the Arnold Farmers’ Market due to the extra cost, Bish said.
By waiving the insurance requirements, more vendors can participate in the Saturday markets but they carry a higher risk.

The city and the Fox School District, which hosts the Arnold Farmers Market, already have the needed insurance because they are part of the Missouri Farmers Market Association, Bish said.
