Based on input from all stakeholders, the BOE determined that it was important to find someone with experience and demonstrated success.  We wanted to choose someone based on what was a good fit for the district, with all of the qualities that had been identified as most important.  There were 15 candidates who applied, with 4 individuals selected for interviews.   The BOE had extensive conversations with 3 of those candidates, through second interviews, but only voted unanimously to approve Dr. Fregeau.  His contract is for a 3 year term, with the extension of the first year being considered on or before May 15, 2022.  For every year thereafter, an extension must be determined on or before February 15.  In all of the remaining aspects, the contract is the same as Dr. Patel’s:  vacation and sick days, travel allowance, professional development expenses/opportunities, and fees for memberships in community organizations.
