Handgun, Jewelry is Stolen While Imperial Woman is in Hospital

An Imperial woman has been in and out of the hospital during the past few months, and some of her things are now missing.
That's according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department report. The woman, who lives on Lakewood Landing, told police that her semiautomatic handgun and some of her jewelry were taken from her nightstand.

The thefts occurred sometime between Jan. 11 and April 11, she said.
A friend recently moved into the home to help take care of the Imperial woman, police said, but she doesn't suspect her friend as the thief.
