House Springs Woman Wins Kindle Fire from MO Treasurer's Office

The prizes are part of the Treasurer's efforts to help residents save money for college.

Donna Dillard of House Springs, MO and John Urhahn of St. Louis won this year’s 529 College Savings Day Giveaway from the State Treasurer's Office.

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel said the winners both recieved a Kindle Fire digital book reader and an Amazon gift card, a Monday news release said.

“Saving for higher education can help families avoid major financial strain when it comes time for their children to attend their choice of two-year, four-year or advanced technical training institutions,” Zweifel said.

Zweifel's office sponsors MOST 529, a college savings plan. 

“Today’s winners now have a valuable tool that will help the young children in their lives learn early on with books, educational games and many other opportunities available to them on the Kindle Fire,” he said.

The winners were randomly selected from 562 people who entered the contest  at www.most529savings.com in May.

MOST 529 has sponsored the 529 College Savings Day Giveaway for the third consecutive year. The giveaway was no cost to taxpayers, the news release said.
