Favorite Era: "The 1950s," Bernie Wilde said in an interview with ArnoldPatch. "Life was simple (compared to the technology filled lives in 2012) but we always had our families and friends. We always talked with each other sometimes while making pillow cases, quilts, doilies.

"We made items from other things in our lives. A quilt would be made of clean but worn out fabrics. And the warmest part of the quilt was made from an old worn out blanket.

"It's the reason why older people were happy with their possessions, those things held a lot of happy memories.

"And it's something we could share with the next generation."
