Older Jefferson County Workers Sought for Missouri Contest

The statewide contest seeks to honor older Missourians who are outstanding in the workplace.

Do you know an older work in Arnold or Jefferson County who is outstanding in the work place?

A statewide contest seeks to identify and honor the Missouri Older Workers of the Year. Ten Missourians will be selected as winners.

Regional winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to Jefferson City for an awards ceremony on October 30.

Nominees must be 65 years or older and employed at a Missouri job site for an average of 20 or more hours per week.

The deadline for nominations is Aug. 17. Nominees will be reviewed by a selection committee. The nomination form is attached as a PDF to this article.

“Older workers should be celebrated all year,” stated Dr. Lewis Chartock, president and CEO of MERS/Goodwill, in a news release. “This contest serves as a thank you to those who dedicate their time and energy to better our community through their vocations.”

The contest, which is sponsored by MERS/Goodwill, Experience Works, Catholic Charities of Kansas City and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, is in its 22nd year.
