Public Invited to 9/11 Memorial Service in City of Arnold on Sunday, September 11

This Sunday marks the 15-year anniversary of terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Arnold, Missouri…The City of Arnold will conduct a memorial service on Sunday, September 11, 2016, in the 9/11 Memorial Garden at the Arnold Recreation Center. The service will begin at 2 p.m. at 1695 Missouri State Road, Arnold, Missouri, 63010. It is free and open to all.

Ann Wagner, U.S. Representatiive for Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District, and Dan Shaul, Missouri District 113 Representative, each will speak at the event.

Officials from the Arnold Police Department, the Rock Community Fire Protection District, the Rock Ambuilance District and local elected officials will be present.

Reverend Larry T. Huber, pastor at Immaculate Conception Church in Arnold, will offer a blessing for all first responders.

Susie Boone, director of Arnold’s parks and recreation department, said, “This Sunday marks the 15-year anniversary of terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Every year we conduct a service on September 11 in our Memorial Garden to remember lives lost and sacrifices made.”

A brass quintet from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will perform at the 9/11 memorial event in Arnold, and a bald eagle, symbol of America, will appear at the event, courtesy of the World Bird Sanctuary.
