Shaun Missey Not Pursuing Ward 1 Arnold City Council Seat

Missey had his name removed from the April ballot for allegedly engaging in purposeful personal property tax avoidance. He's decided pursuing the seat would be too costly.

Shaun Missey, who was disqualified from the April election for allegedly engaging in purposeful personal property tax avoidance, has decided not to pursue getting his name placed back on the ballot.

"It would cost me $4,000 to $5,000 in legal fees," he said. "I just don't have the resources."

He's also decided against running as a write-in candidate.

"I don't see where that would be beneficial because I can't get people to spell my first name right," he said. "Right now, I'm just going to focus on helping my mom, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Maybe I'll run for the seat next year."

Missey's decision means the Ward 1 race is uncontested. Jason Fulbright is lone candidate in the race.
