Thief Breaks Into Barnhart Church, Steals Chips, Plastic Trash Can

A suspect broke into a church on Metropolitan Boulevard in Barnhart and stole a recycling tote containing bags of chips and a plastic trash can. The victim said she and her husband were in the church the night before, and when she came back on Oct. 28, it was in disarray. Forced entry was made through the southern-most facing basement door. The items stolen were valued at $20.

Tuesday, Oct. 30 

• A recovery gauge, a vacuum pump an 18-volt Dewalt cordless drill, a Cooper temperature gauge and an empty cylinder were reported stolen from a man's work truck toolbox on N. Royal Drive in Imperial. The items were valued at $2,074. The locks on the toolbox were cut with bolt cutters. 
• A resident on Ravens Place in Imperial heard his 2005 gray Dodge 4x4 pickup truck start up and then observed it back out of his driveway. He told police he chased his truck down the driveway, but it took off in an undisclosed direction. A Roller air compressor, two Hitachi air nail guns, 15 roof jacks, a Sirius satellite radio, a Garmis GPS, a Cobra radar detector and the man's debit card were in the truck. The man told police that the keys were left in the vehicle as he has done for numerous years without incident.   

Wednesday, Oct. 31

A resident on Miller Park Road in Imperial reported that a Springfield X39, semi-automatic, 9-millimeter pistol was missing. The gun, which was worth $700, was black with a silver slide. The man said he last saw his firearm on Oct. 22 in his vehicle's glove box. He said he searched through his home, but still could not find it. He said he was not certain if the firearm was stolen.
