Venus Will Pass Between the Earth and Sun on Tuesday

At 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, people might be able to see the planet Venus pass along the Sun's face.

No one should look directly at the Sun to view the event because it can damage eyes. Instead people should create pinhole in a cardboard box to view Venus pass in front of the Sun.

The event will occur again in 2117, the NASA website says.

People who prefer to use NASA technology to see the event can visit the NASA website that will broadcast the event from Hawaii on the Internet.

Smartphone owners can download an application, from the CNET website, onto their phones that will allow them to view the event.
