Beware of criminals who take advantage of easy opportunities. This Arnold woman learned a lesson the hard way.

If you leave your garage unlocked and open, you might find yourself in a similar situation to this Arnold woman.
Around 5 p.m. on Aug. 9, she heard a noise in her garage on Northern Lights Drive, notes a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department report. When she entered her garage, she saw that a chainsaw was missing.
Police spoke with a witness who said an orange Chevrolet Cavalier parked in front of the home. A suspect left the vehicle, picked up the chainsaw, and returned to the car before exiting the scene, the witness told police.
