Akin Wants Ballwin Post Office Named After KIA Army Specialist

The Congressman from Wildwood introduced the proposal, which was presented to the President for signing this week.

Legislation introduced by U.S. Representative Todd Akin and approved by Congress would honor Army Specialist Peter Navarro of Wildwood, who was killed during Operation: Iraqi Freedom, by naming the after the soldier.

The legislation, which was first presented in October, would officially rename the building the "Specialist Peter J. Navarro Post Office Building." The legislation was presented to President Obama on Tuesday.

The news comes as Congress considers separate legislation that would alter the process of expected closings at Post Offices nationwide. As previously reported,
