Marquette's Silent Auction Raises Money for Families in Need

recently hosted its annual silent auction to benefit the adopt-a-family project. The funds raised this year will help purchase gift cards for 12 families in need

According to Rusty Smith, school counselor and project organizer, money is raised through staff donations and through the annual silent auction of donated gifts and white elephant gifts.

“This year, we were fortunate to raise more than $3,000 to help families in need,” Smith said. “The generosity shown by the school staff is overwhelming and certainly appreciated. It will truly help brighten the holidays for members of our school community.”

In addition to Smith, teachers Cheryl Klingensmith and Shawn McAteer helped organize the silent auction.
