Ballwin to Vote on Fees for Solicitors, Field Rentals

Members of the Ballwin City Council are scheduled to take up several items of note Monday night.

Ballwin City Council members are scheduled to take-up proposals Monday night requiring solicitors to carry and pay for city-issued IDs, increasing the fee for renting a city athletic field and other city business.

The proposal to require solicitors to carry identification dates back to Dec. 2010, when resident Pat Noland had which she later recounted to the city council. Days after the complaint was recorded by Ballwin-Ellisville Patch, the solicitor was .

The legislation before the council will require solicitors to pay a permit fee of $25 for one day of soliciting, $5 of which covers ID production costs. Every subsequent day of door-to-door soliciting would cost an additional $20. All non-profit and charitable groups would be exempt.

Also on Ballwin city council members' agendas Monday is a proposal that would increase the cost of renting athletic fields owned by the city from $25 to $50. The increase would apply to the baseball diamonds at Vlasis Park, and soccer fields at Ferris Park.

Reinke Road (Bill No. 3725)
This legislation authorizes Ballwin’s participation in the multi-jurisdictional project to repave Reinke Road, which is included in the 2012 budget.

Easement Dedication (Bill No. 3726)
This dedication was previously approved in conjunction with the Rothman redevelopment project.  Legislative action is required to execute the right-of-way dedication plat.
