Ballwin Mayor to Address Sales Tax Distribution

The Ballwin Board of Aldermen is scheduled to discuss possible changes to a sales tax distribution formula and more at Monday night's meeting.

The Ballwin Board of Aldermen is scheduled to discuss state legislation that may affect sales tax revenue received by the city, in addition to other items scheduled for discussion or action, starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14 at the .

INTERIM PROSECUTOR (Bill No. 3667)
This legislation establishes the terms, compensation, and conditions of employment for David Porta, the incumbent serving as the city's interim prosecutor.

SIDEWALK SNOW REMOVAL (Bill No. 3668)
This ordinance repeals the requirement for adjoining property owners to shovel snow from their sidewalks.

PIZZA
The council will vote on whether to approve a contract to be awarded to Dominos Pizza, who submitted the low bid of $9,563.85. The pizza will be sold at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons and North Pointe Aquatic Center. In 2010, a total of approximately $10,000 was spent on pizza purchases for concession sales, which generated revenue of $24,645.

POOL CHEMICALS
The council will vote on whether to approve a contract to be awarded to Pool Pros, who submitted the low bid of $1.60/gallon.

H.B. 534  
Mayor Pogue will discuss the status and potential state legislation regarding the sales tax distribution formula.

NEXT MEETING
Mayor Pogue recommends cancelling the March 28 Board meeting in accordance with past practice.

MOSQUITO CONTROL 
This 1 year agreement is automatically renewable with St. Louis County unless cancelled by either party. Direction is requested.

GOLF COURSE CHEMICALS
The city will vote on whether to approve contracts to be awarded to the respective low bidders on an incremental basis.

FUEL SOURCES
"Due to the unique nature of our fuel supply situation, it is recommended that bidding be waived in accordance with Section 2.4.2."

PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
City Attorney Jones has drafted a comprehensive revision to Chapter 16 of our Code of Ordinances.
