Ballwin to Offer Businesses More Special Events?

If the measure is approved, businesses would be allowed to have four retail-based events throughout the year.

Business owners who think they need more time to promote their stores just may find some relief in a proposal the Ballwin Board of Aldermen is expected to vote on Monday night.

The proposal would increase the number of special events retailers may host in aimed at promoting sales throughout the year from three to four; the proposal follows legislation introduced earlier this year that would have imposed additional limits on commercial signage for Ballwin businesses.

Also on Monday night's agenda are discussions regarding mayoral appointments to the Ballwin Historical Commission, city building code changes and adjustments to the city's 2011 budget.

The board of aldermen meeting will follow a budget meeting at 6 p.m. The budget is part of a series of departmental finance talks meant to help guide the 2012 budget. Board members are expected to introduce next year's budget at the Dec. 12 board meeting.

The budget meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Monday. The Board of Aldermen is scheduled to immediately follow at 7 p.m. Both meetings will take place at the .
