Ballwin's Shoeman Fundraiser Kicks Off Thursday
George 'The Shoeman' Hutchings of Ballwin and the Shoeman Water Projects have teamed up with Wal-Mart for a large scale collection drive starting Thursday.

What organizers are calling one of the biggest shoe collection events in St. Louis history starts Thursday, when the Shoeman Water Projects begins a three-day drive aimed at collecting 250,000 pairs of shoes that will be sold to pay for drills and filtration systems to bring water to underdeveloped countries.
A total of 25 Walmart stores in the St. Louis region will accept donations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Participating stores include those in , Arnold, Farmington, Lake St. Louis, Potosi, Sullivan, Belleville, Fenton, West Florissant, Warrenton, Chesterfield, Festus, Maplewood, Telegraph Road, Washington, Collinsville, O’Fallon, IL, St. Charles, Waterloo, Eureka, Kirkwood, O’Fallon, MO, St. Peters and Wentzville.
