Ballwin Woman Recalls Love of Deceased NBA Player Father

Ballwin resident Suzanne Lindhorst told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that her mother and father, NBA player Charlie Share, "were a walking love story, inseparable in life."

Roughly 44 years ago, when the Boston Celtics were defeated in the 1958 NBA Finals, they lost not to the Miami Heat, as they did in Saturday's conference final, but to the St. Louis Hawks, led by team captain Charlie Share, who died last week at 85 years old.

Share helped give St. Louis its only NBA basketball championship to date, and will be remembered for his positive attitude and sense of team work, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes.

For those close to him, however, Share embodied more than traits that made him a strong team captain—he also was a dedicated husband.
