Ellisville Council to Swear-In New Mayor
The Ellisville City Council will host its second meeting Wednesday since the April 3 elections, when Adam Paul was elected to succeed Matt Pirrello as mayor.

The Ellisville City Council will be welcoming a new face as its leader Wednesday night when the council is expected to swear in Adam Paul as mayor.
this month with 667 votes, ahead of City Council Member Michelle Murray who had 418 votes, Council Member Dawn Anglin who received 222 votes, and resident Robert Srote who received 198 votes.
Paul will succeed Matt Pirrello, who was "termed out" as mayor after two, 3-year terms. Pirrello will be sworn in Wednesday as a city council member filling one of the two seats for District 1, which previously was represented by Clark Compton, who is retiring.

In addition to requests related to fundraisers and business licensing, the agenda for Wednesday's meeting also includes legislation related a possible Walmart, which could be built southwest of Manchester and Kiefer Creek roads. The development may receive a TIF or tax increment financing district, which would provide an extra incentive for developers in exchange for sales tax .
Although legislation for a tax increment financing district related to the Walmart development as well as the relocation policy for residents of the neighboring Clarkchester Apartments complex remain on Wednesday's agenda, Paul said last week those items are unlikely to be voted on that day.
