Five (or more) Photos & Video: David Freese Visits Schnucks

The bakery section at the Kerhs Mill Schnucks may never be as busy as it was Monday.

In a scene that one customer equated with what it takes to meet Santa Claus, hundreds of St. Louis Cardinals fans swarmed the grocer Monday afternoon for a chance to meet hometown hero David Freese.

The Cardinals' third baseman posed for photos and handed out autographed cards for customers, the first of whom said they lined up at 6 a.m. 

The Lafayette grad was then slated to host a youth baseball camp at his high school alma mater late Monday afternoon. Check out some of our photos and videos from the Schnucks stop.
