News Brief: ATM Vault Nearly Hacked

reports that one or more people attempted to break into an ATM at Vantage Credit Union early Feb. 2.

Police were sent to the at 3:11 a.m. after an automated alarm notified authorities that the break in was in progress. The responding officers said the ATM screen was shattered, the "lower doors" to its interior safe were open, its lock was broken and pry marks were present, but the responsible party did not access its cash. Police said the case still is under investigation.
