Rockwood School District: Lafayette High Kicks Off Rockwood's Senior Salute Parades

The Lafayette High community celebrated its Class of 2021 during the school's Senior Salute Parade on Monday, May 24.The event, which took place for the first time last year, gives Rockwood seniors the chance to take a slow ride around their school parking lots during their last week of school and receive cheers from family, friends, fellow students and teachers and school administrators, past and present. This year, seniors' last day of school is Friday, May 28.The students' vehicles were decked out in decorations in Lafayette black, white and gold, as well as school colors and logos representing the colleges and universities they will attend next year.Lafayette held the district's first Senior Salute Parade this year, with Marquette High to follow on Tuesday, May 25, and Eureka High and Rockwood Summit High on Thursday, May 27.The event gives each school community one last chance to celebrate its senior class before their graduation ceremonies at POWERplex STL on June 1-4.Congratulations, Class of 2021!
