The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Mr. Austin Koenig as a new assistant principal at Crestview Middle School beginning July 1, 2021. He replaces Dr. Joshua Walz, who has been named the new principal at Woerther Elementary School.Currently, Mr. Koenig teaches seventh-grade math at Parkway West Middle School. Prior to that, he taught for three years at Wentzville Middle School after beginning his teaching career at Cross Keys Middle School in Florissant.Mr. Koenig earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Maryville University. “I am so humbled and excited to have been selected as an assistant principal at Crestview Middle School,” he said. “I am truly honored to join a team of such dedicated educators. I look forward to working alongside the staff, students, families and community members that give Crestview Middle School and the Rockwood School District such a wonderful reputation!” Mr. Koenig lives with his wife, Taylor, in St. Peters.
