The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Mrs. Sally Schulte as the new coordinator of physical education, health and drivers education, beginning July 1, 2021. Mrs. Schulte replaces Dr. Patrick Fine, who is retiring at the end of the school year.Currently, Mrs. Schulte is the lead K-12 physical education/health teacher in the Wentzville School District, where she has taught since 2010. Prior to that, sh​e taught and coached in the Lonedell School District in Franklin County for two years. Mrs. Schulte serves as the secretary/treasurer for the Missouri Society of Health and Physical Educators and was named the Missouri Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2018 and the SHAPE (Society of Health and Physical Educators) Central District Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2019. She also works with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Missouri Healthy Schools to enhance the effectiveness of physical education and health across the state. Mrs. Schulte earned a Bachelor of Science in K-12 Physical Education and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Athletic Administration from Southeast Missouri State University, and she is currently working on her Doctorate in Teacher Leadership at Maryville University. ​“I am both grateful and thrilled to join the Rockwood School District as the coordinator of physical education, health and drivers education,” said Schulte. “This district is full of outstanding educators that keep students at the center of all they do, day in and day out. I look forward to supporting and partnering with our staff to continue to improve upon curriculum and best practices to ensure that each and every student realizes their potential!”Mrs. Schulte lives in Wentzville with her husband, Andy, and three children.
