35 Irish Dance Students Head to Boston for Championship Competition

Clarkson School of Irish Dance says no other Missouri Irish dance school has consistently had so many qualifying solo dancers.

Clarkson School of Irish Dance is preparing to send 35 dancers to Boston to compete in the World Championships starting March 24.

Dancers will compete as soloists and on teams in the championship competition, both as soloists and on teams. The city is expected to play host to some 15,000 Irish dance enthusiasts, according to the event's Facebook page.

The Clarkson school, which has operated since 1989, has more than 40 championship dancers, nine of whom have qualified for the World Championships as solo dancers this year, as well as five teams that also will be competing.
