Twin Oaks mayor, Russ Fortune, and his wife, Connie, have been named the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery’s “Couple of the Year”.
Mr. and Mrs. Fortune dedicate hundreds of volunteer hours every year to the Crisis Nursery. Some of the projects in which they are involved include:
- coordinating volunteers for the annual “Shower of Love” drive to collect diapers and other supplies for families in need
- providing support for the Crisis Nursery’s partnership with “Operation Food Search” by picking up food for the Nursery on a weekly basis
- providing help and support during the annual “Holiday Hearts” program including picking up and delivering donations to the Crisis Nursery
- representing the Nursery at many events and fundraisers
“Connie and Russ are amazing!” said DiAnne Mueller, CEO of the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery. “They are part of our “Best Friends” group, they are tireless advocates for the Nursery, and they are always there when we need them to support our mission of preventing child abuse and neglect.”
