Walgreens in Ellisville Nearly Robbed
Police say the suspect implied he had a gun before fleeing the store after the unsuccessful robbery.

A man wearing a motorcycle helmet and sunglasses attempted to rob Walgreens in Ellisville late Tuesday, but fled when the store’s cashier refused to turn over any money.
The male subject reportedly entered the store located at 16105 Manchester Road shortly before 11:45 p.m. He then demanded cash from the clerk and gestured in his pocket with something that appeared to be a gun.
Sgt. Nancy Walker of the Ellisville Police Department said the cashier, who was an adult, refused to hand over any cash. That prompted the subject to run out the door and take off on a motorcycle.

“I think there were other people right around, so maybe he just didn’t see it as too much of a threat,” Walker said.
Witnesses in the initial report told police the man appeared to be white, but couldn’t confirm his height or skin color due to his helmet and sunglasses.

“They weren’t 100 percent sure because he had gloves on also,” Walker said.
Neither the type of motorcycle the subject rode or the direction he headed were available, Walker said. Security camera footage still is being reviewed in effort to identify him.
