Wanted: Your Letters to the Editor

Ballwin-Ellisville Patch is listening! Submit a letter to the editor for publication and let your voice be heard.

When Ballwin-Ellisville Patch launched in November, it may not be an exagerration to say that as much time was spent explaining what "Patch" was than was spent delivering community news. Almost five months later, Ballwin-Ellisville Patch not only has successfully reported on stories of all sizes affecting our schools, community groups and city governments, but actually has users contacting us to bring us great ideas for future stories.

We love to have that sort of community feedback. In fact, we want more of it. It's exciting to have an enthusiastic group of readers post messages on stories and comment on each other's profile boards and we hope that continues. We also want to remind people to keep emailing us your story ideas, posting announcements and updating our events calendar.

One form of feedback that Patch still hasn't gotten enough of, however, is letters to the editor. When it comes to completely expressing a thought about a heated issue, sometimes the few sentences allotted for an online story comment or post on Facebook can't fully convey your thought. With letters to the editor, you not only have a much longer space to completely express your ideas, but you have the potential to impact thousands of readers who are active parts of your community.

All we ask is that readers limit the length of letters to the editor to 350 words or less, and include their full name, age, residence and phone number for verification purposes only (addresses or phone numbers will not accompany the published letter). Letters may then be emailed with optional photos to me at chase.castle@patch.com
