One or more thieves took expensive electronics ranging from GPS units to laptop computers from at least six different vehicles this past week. The thefts were reported Tuesday morning, and police said all the burglarized vehicles had been left unlocked.


John F. Kennedy Catholic High School concluded the weekend run of the musical 'Oklahoma!' on Sunday, wrapping up four performances of the Broadway hit. In addition to exhibiting beautifully arranged songs and impressive dancing, the show featured two lead roles from Ballwin: Kelsey Reinsfelder as the flirtatious Ado Annie Carnes, and Madeline Phillips as Laurey Williams, Carnes' conservative foil.

Former Sunset Hills Police Officer Christine Miller, 43, was sentenced to seven years in prison this week for a 2009 DUI car crash that left four students dead. Miller had been drinking at O'Leary's Restaurant in Sunset Hills prior to the crash. The only survivor from the victims' car, Nitesh Adusumilli, 27, of Ballwin, lost his fiancé in the collision, and expressed disappointment with the sentence issued Thursday.


Teens and parents gathered at The Pointe in Ballwin this week to hear about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse among young people. Marquette High School graduate Alex Bauchman, 23, described the troubling series of events that resulted from an incident involving alcohol at his prom. The event also provided parents and students several resources for preventing and dealing with substance abuse.
