WGU Missouri Awards Anniversary Celebration Scholarships

Area residents awarded scholarships

Clayton-based WGU Missouri recently awarded $4,000 scholarships to several new students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees from the nonprofit, fully online university.

The scholarships were awarded in honor of WGU Missouri’s 4th anniversary in an effort to further advance the university’s mission of providing Missourians with access to high-quality, affordable education.

Several scholarship recipients were surprised by WGU Missouri representatives at their place of employment with news they had been awarded the scholarship. Three of these students include:

  • Erica Young of Florissant, at the Special School District of St. Louis County in Town and Country. Erica will soon begin working on her master of science in management and leadership degree.
  • Derek Wooldridge of Hazelwood, at Ascension Health in Edmundson. Derek will soon be starting his bachelor of science in business management degree.
  • Susan Pew, of Columbia, at Sophia’s restaurant. Susan will be starting her bachelor of science in nursing degree.
