Call for Chick-fil-A Support Convenes Wednesday At Restaurants
National day called for by Mike Huckabee, former Republican presidential hopeful.

Supporters of Chick-fil-A and its corporate stance against same sex marriage are called to gather at the restaurants nationwide on Wednesday.
Chesterfield has a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Chesterfield Valley, and one in West County Mall's food court, in Des Peres.
"Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" on August 1 was an event launched by Mike Huckabee, a FOX News commentator and 2008 Republican presidential hopeful.

The event has some 557,000 RSVPs on its Facebook site.
The recent controversy over gay marriage for the chain restaurants came about after a published interview by the company's Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy, son of the chain's founder.

"I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage'. I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about," Dan Cathy reportedly said.
The company's mission statement on its website describes upholding Biblical, Christian values. It's based in the Atlanta area.
A Chesterfield Patch (unscientific) poll last week showed 62 percent said the controversy would make no difference in their dining choices.
