Cedar Lake Cellars To Hold Derby Days Event

Proceeds to benefit TREE House of Greater St. Louis

Cedar Lake Cellars, a winery and event center, will host its annual Derby Days celebration on Sat., May 7 at 1 to 6:30 p.m. with the Kentucky Derby shown live on multiple screens beginning at 5 p.m. The event will benefit TREE House of Greater St. Louis (formerly Therapeutic Horsemanship) to raise funds to care for the organization’s therapy horses. Musical entertainment will be provided by Hillbilly Authority from 1 to 4 p.m. and Gary Sluhan from 6 to 9 p.m. Cedar Lake Cellars is located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, Mo., and all guests must be 21 years of age to attend.

In keeping with the Derby Days tradition, guests are encouraged to dress for the event and participate in contests for best ladies’ hats and best gentlemen’s attire. Live and silent auctions will also benefit the organization.

Cedar Lake Cellars will feature a full Southern cuisine buffet including peach sriracha Applewood smoked ham, Maker’s Mark barbecue shrimp, grilled hanger steak with Henry Bain sauce, Kentucky Cobb salad, chocolate pecan bourbon balls, chocolate bread pudding with vanilla crème Anglaise, Kentucky bourbon pecan pie cups and more. Drinks include traditional mint juleps, sweet iced tea and vodka, and amaretto bourbon punch.

Reservations are recommended and general admission is $15 per person. Grandstand admission is $70 per person and includes the buffet, an open beer and wine bar, and reserved seating for Derby viewing. Millionaires Row admission is $125 and includes an exclusive tasting of five select bourbons, the buffet, an open beer and wine bar, and VIP reserved seating for Derby viewing.
