Does America Need President Hillary?
Hillary is the poster child for the failure of U.S. diplomacy
By B.W. Durham
If Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic nomination and is elected President of the United States, America’s chief executive will be Obama 2.0, except that Hillary will be far more dangerous than her predecessor, less effective at most everything but further weakening our country.
Imagine the wife of a former impeached president, Bill Clinton, trying to push legislation through Congress after her deplorable record as Obama’s Secretary of State, her penchant for not telling the truth, and her power-crazy, ego centric personality.

Remember as First Lady of the United States in 1993 (when Bill was President) her proposed health care plan failed to even reach a vote in Congress even though Democrats controlled both chambers.
And in 1996, she became the first and only First Lady ever subpoenaed when she was ordered to testify before a federal grand jury during the Whitewater real estate scandal in which she and Bill had been linked.

Also in 1996, Hillary, with a reputation for treating White House personnel like dirt, was investigated for involvement in the “Travelgate” affair wherein White House employees were fired and replaced with Clinton friends. Later, an independent counsel report concluded that Hillary was involved in the firings and had made “factually false” statements in testimony. Taking the term “slippery” to a new low, she somehow escaped prosecution.
When rumors spread early in 1998 that her husband was involved in a sexual affair with a young White House intern named Monica Lewinsky the world’s attention turned to TV clips of the commander in chief hugging a delighted Monica.
Hillary initially stated that public speculation about an affair was the result of a “vast right-wing conspiracy” against her husband who, in turn, assured the American people on live TV that no sexual liaison had occurred.
But when Monica was subpoenaed by a federal grand jury for testimony in the matter, she provided a semen-stained blue dress. So, the President was literally caught with his pants down.
Finally, the President acknowledged in grand jury testimony that he had an “improper physical relationship” with the young intern. And he finally admitted publicly that his relationship with Monica was “not appropriate.”
The House of Representatives impeached him for alleged perjury and obstruction of justice in the affair, but the Senate later acquitted him. Pundits soon came up with yet another nickname for the President: “Slick Willie.”
Clinton Regime
And what about Hillary, the self-appointed champion of women and women’s rights? Women everywhere were astonished when she didn’t divorce her lying, philandering husband. But Hillary, no fool, opted to keep her powers as First Lady and stay with the political regime that she and her husband had built.
Her decision to avoid a messy, time-consuming public divorce was smart. And in 1998 with the Monica aftermath still in the news, Hillary decided to run for Senator in New York’s 2000 election. And it didn’t matter to Hillary that she had had never lived in New York State; she had the answer: She became a “carpetbagger.” To enable her candidacy, the Clintons bought an 11-room, five-bath home in Chappaqua outside Manhattan in 1999.
And then she caught a break when her key opponent, New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, withdrew - announcing that he had prostate cancer and personal problems. So now, Hillary faced a far lesser-known candidate, Rick Lazio, a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives. And she beat him.
In 2004, Hillary announced she wanted a second Senate term. Again, she easily won the nomination because the Republican candidate withdrew. Even so, Hillary managed to spend $36 million to win her second term – more than any other senatorial candidate in the country that year.
But everybody knew that what Hillary really wanted was to be America’s first woman President. So, in 2008 she ran for the nomination. She built a national political organization, campaigned for months across America, conducted hundreds of media interviews and spent millions of dollars. And then seeing Obama’s widening lead in the polls, she quit her campaign and endorsed him.
Obama, elected President, soon named Hillary Secretary of State. And it was in this critically important job that Hillary revealed how truly ineffective and amoral she is.
During her tenure as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013 Hillary failed to distinguish herself as an effective diplomat. Serving in one of the most important jobs in the world, she accomplished little, nor did she show effective leadership or have any significant diplomatic achievements.
For example, remember in 2009, she attempted to “reset” and improve our relations with Russia – it failed. And since then, U.S. relations with Russia have continued to deteriorate and the Russians announced that a “reset” with the U.S. was impossible.
In addition, both Hillary and Obama failed to take decisive action in Syria before jihadists overran the country. Her support of the overthrow of Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi led to even more chaos in Libya and on September 11, 2012, Islamic militants attacked our embassy in Benghazi, killing U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and others. Worse, she lied about who was responsible for the attack – incredibly, she blamed it on an American who’d produced a video about Islam!
And, more recently, by dragging her feet on sanctions for Iran, that nation is now on the verge of armed nuclear weapons capability.
Hillary’s list of major mistakes and lies goes on. Since her tenure as Secretary of State ended, her lack of ethics in her candidacy for President have fueled animosity against her from both Democrats and Republicans. (And now many fear that her replacement, John Kerry, maybe be an even worse choice.)
Former Vice President Dick Cheney believes Hillary’s tenure as Secretary of State significantly weakened U.S. foreign policy and that America’s standing in the world has declined.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker said, “There is no place in the world where she hasn’t played a prominent role that is not screwed up right now.”
Boyd Brown, a Democratic National Committee member and former state legislator from South Carolina, in what many believe is gross understatement, said of Hillary: “These are problems that raise real leadership and transparency concerns.”
Thomas Sowell, an economist and social theorist, wrote, “There is nothing in her history that would qualify her (Hillary) for the presidency and much that should disqualify her… What is Hillary’s history? In the most important job she has ever held — Secretary of State — American foreign policy has had one setback after another, punctuated by disasters.”
Clinton Foundation
And there’s more. What about the millions of dollars in foreign government contributions given to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary was Secretary of State, including a $500,000 donation from the Algerian government -- which may have violated U.S. government ethics policy?
What about the $675,000 in fees she was paid by investment firm Goldman Sachs for speaking engagements? That firm, by the way, whose involvement with subprime mortgages fueled the U.S. economic meltdown in 2008 before Goldman Sachs was rescued by the U.S. government bailout, has contributed more than $760,000 to Hillary’s current campaign fund.
After The New York Times reported that Hillary used a private e-mail account at her home to do business at the State Department, allowing her to evade federal record keeping practices (some 60,000 e-mails were involved, including 30,000 that she reportedly deleted) the revelation raised serious security concerns that still being investigated today.
Hillary and the Obama Administration continue to blame an American and his YouTube video about Islam for the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, saying that video “incited tens of thousands of protesters.” In the years since the attack, Hillary has continually misled America about who was responsible for the attack (i.e., Islamic terrorists), the real reasons for the attack and why our government failed to provide the security necessary to protect the Americans there.
In The Washington Post, columnist Ed Rogers wrote that Hillary is what the failure of U.S. diplomacy looks like.
It’s hard to argue with that assessment. In my opinion, Hillary has redefined morality for herself – because she is amoral. She is not concerned with what is morally right or wrong – unless it can enhance her political objectives. The safety and security of our embassy and Americans in Benghazi was her responsibility, yet she denied requests for additional security and our ambassador and at least two Americans were murdered, with more than ten others wounded.
And the fact that she has tolerated her husband’s infidelities says a lot about her morals, her standards of acceptable behavior, and how she defines what is right or wrong.
A person would have to be amoral to do what Hillary has done to enhance the coffers of the Clinton Foundation by using her office as Secretary of State to attract contributions from foreign countries and wealthy contributors, some with criminal records.
Denial
Even though she continues to deny it, we now know she knew that Al-Qaeda operatives had been working in Benghazi months before the attack and that a YouTube video did not provoke the killings. And she told families of the dead Americans that an American and his video were responsible for their children’s murders.
Hillary’s deception, lies and failure to act to protect our diplomatic compound in Benghazi are indefensible, abhorrent and, for the record, are impeachable offenses. She should have been impeached and imprisoned for what she’s done.
Just last month, Elizabeth deMartelly published an article entitled “I am a Female Democrat and I do not support Hillary Clinton.” In the article deMartelly stated,
“I have a post-graduate degree in psychology and an undergraduate degree in sociology. I personally believe Hillary Clinton has all the earmarks of a sociopath—characteristics that seem to continually resurface over a long period of time in the public eye. She’ll do or say anything for a chance at power, the results of which, by the way, can repeatedly be observed on public record as having brought serious harm to others.”
Now Hillary wants to be our President. Hasn’t she done enough harm to America?
