Life is Short..Time for Change?

Are you someone who repeats the same thoughts to yourself about yourself that you did years ago? Guilt, self-blaming and grief can become habits after years of repetition. Are you tired of feeling lonely, depressed or anxious? Do you put yourself down for not meeting yours or other's expectations? It is a difficult life when you experience these thought patterns. Change can be frightening. Fear of the unknown is why we fight change.

Most of us experience anxiety or depression during our lives. However, when negative self-talk becomes a pattern it is time for change. You may agree that it is time to change the way you think about yourself. Then you wonder how to make it happen. Below are a few tips:

  1. Challenge your thought(s). Ask yourself is this really true? Or am I stuck in a negative thought pattern? What would it look like not to think this thought?
  2. Make a gratitude list morning and night.
  3. Take 5 to 10 deep, slow breaths until calmer.
  4. Therapy
