Second Location for Chesterfield's Edgewild Falls Through

The owners of the relatively new restaurant near the Chesterfield Mall were not able to come to lease terms on a second location in Ladue, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

In December, the owners of Chesterfield's newly popular Edgewild Restaurant & Winery announced they'd be opening a second location in Ladue's former Busch’s Grove. Now, it looks like that won't happen.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, the owners of the Busch’s Grove property were not able to come to a satisfactory lease agreement with the owners of Edgewild.

The newspaper quoted John Cella, whose family owns the property, at 9160 Clayton Road. He didn't elaborate.

In their original announcement, Edgewild owner Andy Kohn outlined big plans for the new location in Ladue.

"It will be the new neighborhood watering hole," he said. "The heart of the restaurant will be an oversized bar where patrons can enjoy everything from local craft beers, cocktails and affordable fine wines to tasty appetizers, chopped salads, sandwiches and burgers."

The Business Journal said Busch's Grove had been vacant since 2010, two years after the restaurant closed and reopened as Busch's Grove Market, a gourmet grocer.
