“We are extremely honored to be recognized by the Keep America Beautiful National Community Improvement Award for our continuing work to achieve our mission,” said Laura Cannon Singer, executive director of St. Louis HELP who founded the nonprofit organization in 2008.

“We collect about 11,000 items of donated home health equipment annually,” Cannon-Singer said. “We revitalize it for free loans and we recycle unusable devices.”

“In 2017 we diverted more than 170 tons of equipment from landfills – including home health devices that were loaned, items sent to needy organizations in other countries, and broken parts that we recycled.”

The organization operates a 7,000 square foot warehouse in St. Louis County where it cleans, revitalizes and loans home medical equipment and responds to requests from people and families throughout metro St. Louis for free use of the revitalized health equipment.
