Woman Charged With Embezzling From High School Band
Anna Munson, 45, allegedly stole thousands of dollars from Marquette High School's band, according to court documents.

CHESTERFIELD, MO — Anna Munson, of Columbia, Missouri, has been charged with receiving stolen property — a class C felony — for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars from the Marquette High School band in Chesterfield. A warrant for her arrest was issued March 9, and she is currently free on $30,000 bond.
Munson served as the band booster club's treasurer from 2015 to 2016, and prosecutors say she she withdrew at least $17,500 from that group's bank account, wrote herself unauthorized checks, and made several fraudulent purchases using the club's credit card.
Police say Munson convinced the school's band director to let her be the group's sole treasurer. The role had previously been filled by at least two individuals. Shortly after Munson took over, school officials began noticing discrepancies with the group's bank account, according to court documents.
