Monday morning, passersby notified officers of an abandoned bicycle in the area of S. Hanley & Bonhomme. Officers found the children's bike underneath the Forest Park Parkway overpass & collected it for safekeeping. If you believe the bicycle is yours, please contact the CPD for additional information.

A traffic stop in the area of Clayton Rd. & S. Hanley Tuesday morning revealed a warrant for the driver's arrest through the SLMPD for stealing a motor vehicle. She was arrested & released into their custody.

A Claverach Park resident awoke Wednesday morning & discovered his vehicle was missing from his driveway. The car was last seen at approximately 8pm Tuesday night. The resident believed the keys may have been inadvertently left inside the vehicle. An investigation is ongoing.

A few hours later, a resident in the Polo subdivision noticed her mother's SUV was missing from her driveway. The vehicle was parked at her home while her mother was out of town. The resident last saw the SUV early Tuesday evening. At the time, the resident's personal car was parked behind it, blocking the exit from the driveway. The position of the vehicles forced the suspect(s) to maneuver the SUV through the reporting party's yard, damaging a shrub & retaining wall. While speaking with neighbors, one neighbor reported overhearing a loud noise around 4:30am.

St. Louis County PD contacted the CPD Thursday morning after officers discovered the vehicle abandoned in their jurisdiction. The SUV sustained damage consistent with the damage to the reporting party's landscaping. The investigation continues.

A domestic assault investigation was initiated later Wednesday morning when a therapist contacted the CPD to report she believed her client had been assaulted. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to the 6400 block of Forsyth Wednesday afternoon for reports of a driver leaving the scene of an accident. The victim was traveling eastbound on Forsyth when a gray Ford Taurus left an adjacent parking lot at a high rate of speed & crashed into his vehicle. The impact forced the victim's car off the roadway, where it struck a fire hydrant. Witnesses & surveillance footage confirmed the victim's account of the incident. Through investigation, officers have identified the owner of the striking vehicle & are attempting to locate him for questioning.

While retrieving his deceased wife's personal effects Thursday evening, a man discovered her wallet & its contents were missing. He believes caregivers are responsible for the missing items.

A Hillcrest resident reported her Woodhaven firewood rack was missing from the rear of her property. She last saw the rack stored in its usual place in the alleyway next to her trash & recycling bins.

Friday evening, a woman responded to the CPD to report an attempted fraud involving her bank account. She explained her wallet was stolen in March & her financial accounts had been compromised by fraudulent purchases. Wednesday, bank personnel contacted her & reported an unknown woman had deposited a $9,000 personal check into her bank account. The woman impersonated the reporting party by presenting a fake driver's license. The observant bank employee recognized that the woman presenting the check was not the account holder. The bank account has since been closed & the reporting party was not defrauded of any funds.

Finally, Saturday morning, a resident in the 6600 block of San Bonita discovered an unexplained muddy footprint on the floor of his computer room as well as mud/dirt on his desk & a ground floor window above the desk. The window was closed but had not been locked. Upon reviewing his interior security cameras, the resident observed the door to the computer room opened just after 1130 pm Friday night. Whoever opened the door did not walk into the camera's view & the door closed a short time later. Nothing appeared to have been taken no suspects or witnesses have been identified.

Please continue to help us prevent crime by removing all valuables, keys & remotes from your vehicles. Lock your vehicles, home & garage, & report anything suspicious or unusual as soon as possible.

Until next week, stay safe!
