Clayton Police Department Offering Residential Checks While People Are On Vacation
Those leaving town for spring break can have officers do periodic checks on their vacant homes to safeguard property.

Spring break is rapidly approaching & for many of us that means time away from home. Whether your plans take you across town or further away, let us know & we'll keep an eye on things. To schedule your vacation check, contact the Clayton Police Department at (314)290-8403 or the East Central Dispatch Center at (314)645-3000.

The CPD’s Vacation Check Program is designed to provide our residents peace of mind while they're away from home for extended periods of time. Officers will perform periodic checks on your residence while it is vacant. This public service helps to safeguard your property & allows for rapid response & owner notification in the event of an emergency or anything that may require your attention.
When possible, please provide 3 business days’ notice of your request before you leave. Additionally, we request you contact the CPD to stop the vacation checks if you return home early.
