Is it Essential for Clayton to Share Services with Neighboring Communities?
The Clayton mayoral candidates spoke reducing costs by sharing services with nearby communities, the school district and private entities.
Should Clayton look more into sharing services with neighboring communities? How about sharing services and their cost with the school district?
During a public debate on March 14 at the Clayton High School auditorium, the candidates for mayor of Clayton in the April 2013 election were asked for their view on Clayton's efforts toward consolidating services with nearby communities.

Former alderman Harold Sanger said there is no reason why Clayton shouldn't share commonalites with the school district and with surrounding cities. He said it's done it now with the dispatch center.
Ward 3 Alderman Alex Berger III said Clayton need to be more fiscally sound. He said the first place to look for shared services is the school district.

Ward 2 Alderwoman Michelle Harris said the city need to be more creative. She said the city should depend more on public/private partnerships like the Clayton Century Foundation, which has invested in bricks and mortar amenities in Clayton.
