Former St Louis Co Police Chief Eyes County Council Seat
Former St. Louis County Police Cheif Tim Fitch will run for a seat on the county council.

CLAYTON, MO — Former St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch will run for the third-district council seat being vacated by Republican Councilwoman Colleen Wasinger, who recently announced she will not seek another term. He will run as a Republican.
Fitch retired in 2014 after having served the county for more than three decades. He was police chief for four years. According to the Post-Dispatch, he now runs a public safety consulting business, in addition to being global security manager for Emerson Electric, a multinational corporation based in Ferguson, Mo.
Fitch said he was inspired to run for office by the unrest in Ferguson after county prosecutors declined to charge police officer Darren Wilson for shooting Michael Brown in 2014. The Post-Dispatch reports Fitch said Democrats threw law enforcement under the bus during the protests. Wasinger has not yet said whether she will endorse her would-be replacement.
