Special recognition went to the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis for organizing and executing two vaccination clinics for MRH staff in April.

"The clinics came together on relatively short notice but were operated with extreme efficiency and were well-attended, with nearly all of the first dose patients returning for dose 2," said Board President Brandi Herndon-Miller. "The VNA eagerly returned for our student vaccination event, as well. The MRH nursing team actually contacted VNA long before any vaccines were approved, and it was the VNA which sprang into action to schedule our clinics in a swift fashion."

Accepting the honor were VNA nurses Michelle Jenkerson and Karen Krus.

Herndon-Miller continued: "When it became clear late last summer that the time was not right for students and staff to return to school buildings, the entire community shifted into pivot mode. That included the good folks at The Heights, the city of Richmond Heights Community Center. Families of students in grades kindergarten through 6 were offered day care at The Heights in order for parents to meet their work obligations. This was an invaluable contribution to the families at the Early Childhood Center and Elementary School. And when the District transitioned to a hybrid learning mode, The Heights elected to continue providing the day care service."

Accepting the honor was Jeanette Days, Special Events Coordinator for The Heights.
