Two St. Louis Elks Lodges Visit Mid-State Veteran's Home; Donate Four Televisions

In the spirit of “Elks Care. Elks Share.” 6 members from St. Louis Lodge #9 located at 12841 Ladue Road in Creve Coeur and 7 members from Ellisville Lodge #2664 recently made a trip to the St. James Veterans Home in St. James, MO as part of their joint semi-annual visit.* The lodges served 75 Veterans and their families, St. James Veterans Home staff and members of the Missouri National Guard Warrant Officer School from Ft. Leonard Wood a BBQ lunch of pulled pork, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, applesauce, desserts and drinks. Each resident was also presented with a bag containing socks, gloves, Chapstick, Kleenex, chips, and in celebrating Mardi Gras, were given beads to wear.

The Veterans Home was also presented with four 32 inch televisions. Three were donated by the St. Louis Lodge #9 Veterans Committee and one was personally donated.
