Gunter Murder Case Headed For Grand Jury
William Lynn Gunter is charged with killing his wife March 18 in their West St. Louis County home.

The case of a St. Louis County man accused of murdering his wife is now in the hands of a grand jury. A preliminary hearing scheduled for William Lynn Gunter did not take place as scheduled Thursday.
Gunter, 59, of the 1500 block of Mason Hill Court, is accused of killing his wife, Suzanne Gunter, on March 18 in their home. St. Louis County Police said Gunter struck his wife with a blunt instrument. He is charged with first-degree murder.
The family were parishioners at St. Anselm Parish in Creve Coeur.

A grand jury hearing has not yet been scheduled, court officials said.
Initially, a 911 call on March 18 reported Suzanne’s injury as an accident, but a coroner said the incident could not have happened the way it was reported to a Town and Country police officer, who initially responded to the scene.Â

William Lynn Gunter was a vice president of AHM Financial Group, located just outside Westport Plaza near Maryland Heights.
Suzanne Gunter, 55, served as a member of the city of Town and Country's Community Relations Commission and was an active volunteer in the Parkway School District.
Gunter is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center without bail.
