New Boxing Podcast Features Former In-Ring Foes Along With Combat Sports Reporter

(St. Louis, Missouri): Matthew Pearlman, a sports reporter and three-time published author, was in the process of a busy night of video interviews with pro boxers. His plan was to post these for the fans of his fight sport’s blog and social media efforts. A new idea came to him in the middle of back-to-back interviews with a pair of California fighters, “As I was reviewing notes for the second interview, it occurred to me that the two fighters that I was interviewing that night had fought each other in the ring and had become friends. I thought it would be an interesting concept to bring together two former foes to discuss boxing news and other related topics. I thought that the dynamics would make for some great chemistry on the podcast.”

The night of interviews has turned into something much bigger than just two short discussions with fighters. This has turned into a new weekly boxing podcast. The show name, “Foe to Friend”, accurately depicts a great story between pro boxers, Lennard Davis & Mike Melikyan. In 2017, these two dream chasing boxers stared across at each other in the ring, having no idea of the friendship that would follow. Having fought to a draw after a close battle, Melikyan, who had previously dealt with not so friendly opponents, instantly had respect for “Cheetah” Davis, a mutual respect that has led to a great friendship ever since their fight.
