St. Louis Dental Center welcomes Dr. Prashanth K. Haribabu
Dr. Haribabu leads pre-doctoral education program in oral and maxillo-facial surgery
A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) is pleased to announce Prashanth Konatham Haribabu, DDS, MDS, MSD, has been appointed as the director for oral & maxillo-facial surgery (surgery of mouth, teeth, jaws ) at the St. Louis Dental Center located at 1500 Park Avenue. The announcement was made by ATSU-MOSDOH Dean Dwight McLeod, DDS.
Dr. Haribabu earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy-School of Dentistry in Detroit, Michigan, where he concurrently mentored and trained pre-doctoral students and oral surgery residents at the graduate level in the oral and maxillo-facial surgery department.
He completed two fellowship training programs in infectious diseases dentistry and orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint disorders, and concurrently earned a master of science in dentistry (MSD) in the same specialization from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, New Jersey, where he later taught at the graduate level in the diagnostic sciences department. During the same time period, he conducted clinical research, which focused on assessing sensory changes among patients with head and neck cancer who received radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy.

Originally from southern India, Dr. Haribabu received formal full scope oral and maxillo-facial surgery from Sri Ramachandra University and a bachelor of dental surgery from Sri Ramachandra Dental College in Chennai, India.
Dr. Haribabu’s key areas of interest revolve around expert management of non-dental pain conditions including neuropathic, myofascial, jaw joint disorders, and oral implantology. He has been invited as a keynote speaker by several organizations and universities, nationally and internationally, focusing on the fields mentioned above.
