Ballwin Post Office Gets Renamed to Honor Lafayette High Fallen Soldier
A public acknowledgment of a local, American soldier who was killed in active duty has been in the works for several years. On Friday morning, a fallen hero will be commemorated for history.
The Ballwin Post Office at 15455 Manchester Road will be dedicated in honor of Army Spc. Peter Navarro at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Navarro was among four soldiers killed in 2005 when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in combat. He was a 2003 graduate of Lafayette High School in Wildwood.
Navarro's family members, representatives from Rep. Ann Wagner’s (R-Ballwin) office, city and school officials, and members of Lafayette High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) are scheduled to attend the dedication.
The commemoration will include a flag ceremony performed by members of Lafayette’s Air Force Junior ROTC, and a plaque presentation in Navarro's honor.
