Fried Pie Shop Makes RFT's List of Region's Best

Folks in Eureka don't have to go very far to find the best pie in the St. Louis area—as long as you agree with the ranking in the Riverfront Times this week.

In the RFT's "Gut Check Guide" published on Monday, featuring the best places for pie in the St. Louis area, The Original Fried Pie Shop made the cut along with six other noteworthy pie places from Webster Groves to the Metro East to St. Charles.

"You didn't think we'd make a best pie list without including at least one fried pie, did you?" the RFT wrote in its paragraph about the Eureka pie spot. "Initially, we scoffed when we walked into the Eureka outpost of the Original Fried Pie Shop.... Our doubts were wiped away with our first bite of a deep-fried coconut-cream pie."
